October is an important month for people dealing with arthritis as there are two special events that highlight the challenges of arthritis.
The first event is Bone and Joint National Action Week which is held annually from 12-20th October. Activities are focused on disorders including arthritis, back pain, osteoporosis, and the effects of childhood obesity on the musculoskeletal system.1
Having said that, one common suggestion to ease joint pain is to get those joints moving. Exercising is important for making your body more flexible, keeping your joints stable, and making your muscles stronger. Activities like swimming, water aerobics, and gentle strength training are good options to consider.
